Best AI Consultants in Maryland, DC and Virginia: 9 Firms

By Jordan SolenderUpdated 9 min read

The best AI consultant in Maryland, DC or Virginia depends on your company’s size and what you need delivered. Small firms are well served by local boutiques with flat fees. Mid-market companies have several regional builders to choose from. Enterprises have DC-based engineering firms with global teams.

Disclosure: this guide is published by Ironbridge AI Advisory, a Rockville, Maryland firm, and Ironbridge is one of the nine firms listed. We include ourselves and say so plainly. Details about every other firm come from that firm’s own public website as of October 2026. Verify anything important with the firm directly, because offers and prices change.

The firms are grouped by where they are based, then listed alphabetically. This is not a ranking, and there are no scores.

How we chose these firms

We started with firms that appear when people search for AI consulting in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia, then kept the ones whose own sites gave us enough to compare. Each was checked on five criteria.

  • Location. Where the firm says it is based, and whether it has an office in the region or only serves it.
  • Who they serve. Company size and industries, as stated on the site.
  • Engagement model. Flat assessment, fixed-scope project, staged project or monthly retainer.
  • Public pricing. Whether the site shows a price. Where it does, we quote it as published.
  • Proof they publish. Named clients, case studies, review ratings or delivery counts.

Anything we could not confirm on a firm’s own site was left out. Two of the nine firms publish pages for this region but list headquarters elsewhere, and we say so in their entries.

Maryland firms

Ironbridge AI Advisory

Ironbridge AI Advisory, formerly Solender AI, is based in Rockville, Maryland. It is a senior AI team that a company plugs in for one flat monthly fee, month to month. The team finds the work worth automating, builds AI agents, workflow automations and custom AI web apps, and keeps them running. It also provides fractional Chief AI Officer leadership.

Ironbridge serves small and mid-market US companies, and its published work spans nine industries. See the case studies and the industries pages. Local detail is on the Maryland and Washington DC pages.

Ironbridge does not publish pricing on its site.

Fit: a company that wants systems built and kept running over many months without hiring AI staff. Not a fit: a buyer who needs a fixed bid for one project, a company that only wants a one-time assessment report, a federal agency that needs a cleared contractor on a contract vehicle, or an enterprise that needs a large onsite team.

Orases

Orases is a custom software company at 5728 Industry Lane in Frederick, Maryland. Its site says it was established in 2000 and that all coding is done in the US and never outsourced. AI services listed include AI strategy and consulting, AI solution development and custom AI agents, next to web apps, mobile apps, integrations and legacy modernization.

The site lists 19 or more industries and names clients including the NFL, MLB and the American Kidney Fund. Published proof includes a 5.0 Clutch rating, a 96% client retention rate and 950 clients served, all as stated on the site.

Prices are not published.

Fit: an established organization that needs a substantial custom application with AI inside it. Consider: it is a software development firm first, so a small automation project may be below its typical scope. Ask about minimums.

ReclaimROI

ReclaimROI is based in Timonium, Maryland, and lists Baltimore, Annapolis, Columbia and Frederick among its service areas. Its site says it serves small businesses with $250,000 or more in annual revenue and at least three people, including accounting firms, law firms, insurance brokers and specialty contractors.

Pricing, as published on their site, is a $1,500 flat fee with no retainer. That buys a 20-minute discovery call, a customized report in three days and a 30-minute walkthrough. Implementation is a separate engagement, listed as typically $3,000 to $5,000 per problem.

The site shows a sample report based on an example company. We did not find named client case studies.

Fit: a small Baltimore-area firm that wants a low-cost first look. Consider: the core product is an assessment, so large or multi-system builds are a different purchase.

Washington DC firms

NetAesthetics

NetAesthetics lists its address as 2001 L St NW in Washington, DC. Its site describes AI implementation and consulting for companies doing $5M to $50M with no in-house AI team. Industries named are healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, government and hospitality.

It sells four fixed-scope tiers and says no long-term commitment is required. Pricing, as published on their site, is $9,500 for an AI Opportunity Audit, $25,000 for an AI Assessment, $49,500 for an AI Strategy engagement, and implementation starting at $175,000.

The site states more than 50 implementations delivered and a six-week average deployment, and lists three case studies.

Fit: a mid-market DC company in a regulated sector that wants a fixed price per step. Consider: the implementation floor suits larger budgets.

10Pearls

10Pearls calls itself an AI-native global digital engineering partner and lists Washington DC among its office cities, along with Chicago, London and several cities in Latin America and Pakistan. Its site states a team of more than 1,400 people.

AI services include custom AI development, generative AI, agentic AI systems, AI strategy consulting, readiness assessments and AI security and compliance. Named clients include PayPal, Verizon and Elevance Health. The site describes a discovery call, then project planning and team selection, then delivery with regular updates.

Prices are not published.

Fit: a large organization that needs an engineering team at scale. Consider: the client list suggests enterprise work, so a small business may be outside its usual range.

Virginia firms

Ironworks AI

Ironworks AI is based in Richmond, Virginia. Its site lists service areas across the mid-Atlantic, including DC, Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads and Roanoke. It targets small and mid-sized businesses and names dental practices, healthcare, professional services and family offices.

The model has three stages. Pricing, as published on their site, is $5,000 to $25,000 for Consult over two to four weeks, $25,000 to $300,000 for Build over four to twelve weeks, and $3,000 to $20,000 a month for Manage. The site says clients own all code, data, models and infrastructure.

Published proof includes delivery counts, such as 34 AI agents deployed, and a coaching firm case study.

Fit: a Virginia or DC small business that wants price bands up front and a path from audit to managed support. Consider: the bands are wide, so get a specific quote.

RTS Labs

RTS Labs is a boutique applied AI consulting firm at 4951 Lake Brook Drive in Glen Allen, Virginia, near Richmond. Its site says it has been in business since 2010, has shipped more than 514 projects and employs only US-based staff. Services include agentic AI, AI consulting, data engineering and software engineering.

Focus industries are financial services, insurance, logistics, real estate and private equity. Named clients include CarMax, Dominion Energy and Advance Auto Parts. Its small business page states a range of $15,000 to $75,000 per project, as published on their site, and production-ready AI in 90 days.

Fit: a company with a defined project, a deadline and a preference for a US team. Consider: the range covers project work, so ask how ongoing support is handled.

Firms that serve the region from elsewhere

Opinosis Analytics

Opinosis Analytics is a boutique AI consulting firm founded by Dr. Kavita Ganesan. It publishes a Maryland page that lists Baltimore, Annapolis, Silver Spring, Frederick, Rockville and Gaithersburg as service areas, plus pages for Bethesda and Baltimore. We could not confirm an office address in the region on its site.

Services include AI strategy, readiness assessments, custom AI and NLP development, large language model solutions and leadership training. The Maryland page names Centeva, a federal contractor, and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission among clients. Engagements begin with a 20-minute discovery call or a 90-minute strategy call. Rates are provided on request.

Fit: a leadership team that wants strategy set by an experienced AI practitioner before building. Consider: ask where the team is located if in-person work matters.

Perceptive Analytics

Perceptive Analytics lists its address as 353 W 48th St in New York. It publishes a Washington DC AI consulting page. The firm’s roots are in analytics and BI, including Tableau, Power BI and Snowflake, and its AI services include RAG systems, predictive machine learning, workflow automation with AI agents and data engineering.

Its DC page states that a focused pilot typically ranges from $25,000 to $75,000 and that a full enterprise AI platform can range from $150,000 to $500,000 or more, as published on their site. Named clients include Morgan Stanley and PepsiCo.

Fit: a data-heavy organization that needs analytics and AI together. Consider: confirm who would staff a DC engagement and from where.

How to choose

Match the firm to your size first, then to the kind of output you need.

  1. Under about 20 people. Start with a flat-fee assessment or a monthly team. A six-figure implementation rarely fits.
  2. Mid-market with no AI staff. Compare a staged project firm against a monthly model. Staged projects suit one large system. Monthly suits a steady stream of smaller ones. The small business AI adoption playbook explains how to sequence them.
  3. Regulated or government-adjacent. Ask about data handling, where models run, and who can access your records. Ask for a client in your sector.
  4. Enterprise. Look at engineering depth, security practice and the size of the bench.

Three regional points are worth checking.

  • Office versus city page. A page titled for your city does not mean the firm has people there. Ask where the team sits.
  • Federal work. Selling to agencies needs contract vehicles and often clearances. Most firms here focus on commercial clients, so confirm before assuming.
  • In-person time. If you want workshops at your office, a firm in Rockville, Frederick, DC or Richmond can drive to you. Decide whether that matters before paying extra for it.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the best AI consultants in Maryland?

Firms based in Maryland that publish AI consulting services include Ironbridge AI Advisory in Rockville, Orases in Frederick and ReclaimROI in Timonium. They serve different buyers: ongoing builds, custom software and flat-fee assessments. Opinosis Analytics also publishes Maryland service pages.

How much do AI consultants charge in the DC area?

Published prices in this guide run from a $1,500 flat assessment at ReclaimROI to implementation starting at $175,000 at NetAesthetics. Ironworks AI publishes monthly management from $3,000 to $20,000. Several firms, including Ironbridge, do not publish prices. Confirm current numbers with each firm.

Is this list ranked, and who wrote it?

It is not ranked. Ironbridge AI Advisory wrote it and is one of the firms listed, which is why firms are grouped by location and ordered alphabetically with no scores. Facts about other firms come from their own websites as of October 2026.

Do I need a local AI consultant, or can I hire one anywhere?

Most AI work is done remotely inside your existing systems, so a firm anywhere in the US can deliver it. Local helps with in-person discovery, team training and trust. If you choose a remote firm, ask how often you will meet and who your day-to-day contact is.

Which firms here work with small businesses?

ReclaimROI, Ironworks AI and Ironbridge AI Advisory state that they serve small businesses. Opinosis Analytics says it works with small businesses as well as larger ones. See the small business AI consulting page for how Ironbridge approaches it.

What should I ask before signing with an AI consultant?

Ask who does the work, who owns the code and data afterward, how systems are maintained after launch, and how you exit. Ask for a reference client of similar size. The guide on measuring ROI of AI automation helps you set a target before the first invoice.
